Corneliu Ciontu
the father of P.P.
"We want the power, we're not wasting any time!"
Monday, the 31st of October, 2005.
A great day: I have an interview with the founder of the People's
Party, Mr. Corneliu Ciontu. It is my first ever important interview,
so I tend to exaggerate dressing up. I take a look at the time and
- oh, the eternal woman - I realize I will be late.
Dorin Ciustea
the vice-president of the D.C. Botosani:
"We have a political force that will make your jaw drop!"
- It is said that P.P. will be a party of strong branches. Is
that a fool's promise?
- I don't think so. It is the big chance of a new party - to let
their branches distinguish themselves, to encourage an internal
democracy. The country man feels alone and unimportant; he must
understand that being a part of P.P. he will become strong and involved.
Gheorghe Feies
the boss of P.P. Arad:
"I am ready to be a secretary of state and a prefect!"
- Mr. Feies, is it better to be "a people's party"
than a "national party"?
- Yes it is, especially in the context of joining the European structures.
People means national, Christian and social in Europe. No one abandons
the national idea, it's just that we can't get lost in the XIX century
nationalism.
Jenel Copilau
the president of D.C. Olt:
"A politician that doesn't govern is like a sterile man!"
- You've joined the People's Party to govern, didn't you?
- No. I don't think this kind of choice can be made out of opportunity.
When you believe in an idea, you fall in love with it, you protect
it like you would your own children. But let's be honest: a politician's
destiny is power.
Nicu Vasilescu
the quicksilver of P.P.:
"Our message goes to the undecided."
- Mr. Vasilescu, didn't you betray "The National Movement"
for the sake of the people's project?
- "The National Movement" is not a party's monopoly. So
I haven't betrayed anyone because I never gave up on it. For 14
years, I believed in a political project called PRM. I don't regret
one second of those years, however I couldn't wait another 14 years
to find a deceptive ending.
